Mannan binding lectin in febrile adults: no correlation with microbial infection and complement activation

Abstract
Data were summarised as median/range, and χ2 and Kruskal-Wallis analysis of variance tests were used to compare groups. Backward logistic regression was used to find the smallest set of variables predictive for bacteraemia, on the basis of the likelihood ratio. The Hosmer-Lemeshow test was used to evaluate the goodness of fit, with a p value approaching 1 indicating a perfect fit of predicted on observed frequencies. p < 0.05 was considered significant.
