Manufacturing Technology for Prototype Bodies of 227 mm Rato Booster Rockets

Abstract

The paper presents the results of examinations carried out to determine the possibilities of application of 15HGMVŻ steel to produce the bodies of RATO booster rockets of 227mm caliber. The studies of basic physical properties, cold formability, temperatures of phase transformations, and the mode of precipitation during tempering of 15HGMVŻ steel were carried out.
