Mathematical Model of a Closed Loop Pitch Controlled Turbine in a Wind Energy Conversion System
Journal Title: Asian Research Journal of Mathematics - Year 2017, Vol 3, Issue 2
Abstract
The closed loop pitch control relies on the variation in the power captured by the turbine as the pitch angle of the blades is changed in line with most companies’ challenge of maintaining a steady and optimal power supply. The control involves the pitch angle, wind power, reference power, wind speed and the angular velocity of the turbine. This is done through modelling and simulation undertaken and implemented in MATLAB/SIMULINK simulation environment to optimize energy capture. In conclusion, pitch function gives full control over the mechanical power for the variable speed wind turbines.

Diffusion-thermo and Thermo-diffusion Effects on MHD Fluid Flow over Non-linearly Stretching Sheet through a Non-Darcy Porous Medium
In this paper, we discuss Diffusion-thermo and Thermo-diffusion effects on MHD free convective incompressible, Newtonian fluid flow over non linearly stretching sheet with radiation and chemical reaction, through a non-D...
Properties and Applications of Some Algebraic Transformations from the Conditional Function
The intended purpose of this paper is to associate with a given function y = f(x) whose derivative admits one to three turning points an infinite number of other functions, called conditional functions (Cdf ),which are r...
Dynamics Response of Beam on Elastic Foundation with Axial Force to Partially Distributed Moving Loads
The dynamics response of Beam on elastic foundation with axial force to partially distributed moving loads was examined. The fourth order partial differential equation which is the governing equation was first reduced...
Convergence Analysis and Implementation of Adomian Decomposition Method on Second-order Oscillatory Problems
In this paper, a new convergence analysis of Adomian Decomposition Method (ADM) for second-order problems will be presented. The ADM will also be implemented on second-order oscillatory problems to generate approximate s...
