Matylda Chorzelska (1892–1943). Farmaceutka, żołnierka, zastępca senatora

Abstract

Matylda Chorzelska (1892–1943), doctor of pharmacy, activist of the Polish Women’s Legionnaires’ Union, deputy senator in 1938–1939. She was the first woman to obtain a doctorate degree employed at the Faculty of Medicine of the Stefan Batory University in Vilnius. She belonged to the generation that won the independence of Poland and at the same time witnessed the fall of the state in September 1939. She died in Vilnius in October 1943.
