Measurement of Indoor Radon Concentration in Dwellings of Koya Using Nuclear Track Detectors
Journal Title: UNKNOWN - Year 2015, Vol 4, Issue 1
Abstract
Exposure to natural sources of radiation, especially 222Rn and its short-lived daughter products has become an important issue throughout the world because sustained exposure of humans to indoor radon may cause lung cancer. Therefore, indoor radon concentration has been measured 42 homes of Koya in Erbil, Iraqi Kurdistan. CR-39 (NTDs) nuclear track detectors were exposed for 60 days for the measurement of indoor radon levels. The average indoor radon concentration have been measured which are found to be in the range 22.45 ± 1.86 to 75.84 ± 3.75 Bq/m3. The mean annual estimated effective dose received by the residents of the studied area was estimated to be 1.24 mSv. The annual estimated effective dose is less than the recommended action level (3-10 mSv).
Effect of Dimensionless Number on Thermal Performance of Closed Loop Pulsating Heat Pipe: A Review

Study of Phosphorus Profile in Indian Wheat Varieties
In the present study, total phosphorus and inorganic phosphorus content were determined in twenty wheat varieties. Among twenty wheat varieties, LOK-1 variety was found to have higher content except in kilning processed...
Intuitionistic Fuzzy Regular Generalized Semi Continuous Mappings
In this paper we introduce the concept intuitionistic fuzzy regular generalized semi continuous mappings and investigate some of their properties.
Improving Software Quality Using Two Stage Cost Sensitive Learning
The quality of software depends heavily on how accurately it works. The accuracy is determined by the fact that the less the software modules are defect prone, the more accurate the software will be. So software defect p...
