Mechanism of Experimental Diabetic Cardiomyopathy Development

Abstract

In experiment on 48 rats Na,K-ATPase and acetylcholinesterase activity was investigated in order to study the intensity and subsequence of cardiomyocyte membrane injuries induced by diabetic cardiomyopathy. The results and literature data allow conclude that diabetes-induced cardiomyopathy firstly affect transport processes in cardiomyocyte membrane. Long-term diabetes mellitus is associated with impaired cholinergic regulation.
