Medical and Social Rehabilitation of Children with Bronchial Asthma in Outpatient Hospital

Abstract

The results of the effectiveness of the complex rehabilitation for children with asthma in outpatient hospital are presented. The study involved 74 children with I, II and III degree of severity of asthma, aged 7–16 years. The plan of rehabilitation activities consisted of basic therapy, physical rehabilitation and psychological support in coordination with the parents. Due to the complex rehabilitation in children with asthma, we succeeded improving the quality of life (relation to the severity of the disease, the perception of symptoms and emotional problems of the treatment process), the dynamics of asthma symptoms, peak expiratory flow rate by 1.5 times, social adjustment by 1.5 times and reducing the frequency of exacerbations by 2 times.
