Metabolic Disorders and Genetic Predictors of Non-Diabetic Ketoacidosis in Children with Acute Infectious Diarrhea
Journal Title: Актуальна інфектологія - Year 2014, Vol 3, Issue 2
Abstract
This article presents the results of studies of metabolic disorders that occur in children with non-diabetic ketoacidosis (NDK) on the background of invasive and secretory diarrhea, and possible genetic predictors of their occurrence. It is shown that in NDK secondary to infectious diarrhea metabolic disorder worsen that manifests in a significant increase in the serum of these children compared to children without NDK and the control group of uric acid levels (2.1 and 2.58 times, respectively) and products of oxidative modification of plasma proteins (1.37 and 2.14 times, respectively). Predictors of NDK in children are slow acetylation phenotype and triple association of erythrocyte antigens B(III)P(+)N.
