Method of object ranging by signaling security means based on measurement of electrical capacity of sensing element

Abstract
Introduction. Analysis of the researches in the field of signaling break-away protection means allowed to determine scientific and technical solutions which solve tasks concerning realization of object ranging. However, these scientific and technical solutions have several disadvantages, which are proposed to be solved with a new method based on measurement of electrical capacity of sensing element. Research results. The essence of the method novelty is the object ranging based on regression analysis of experimental data in measurement of electrical capacity of the “Tros” microcable tape. This method has no restrictions as for object ranging in comparison with the method of impulse reflectometry. Conclusions. Used method allowed to raise the efficiency of sensing element control by object ranging.
