Methodical Approaches to the Evaluation of Development of the Ukrainian Food Market and its Capacity

Abstract
The article is aimed at synthesis of the existing approaches to study of the food market in Ukraine. The features of the food market as a resource market, which has an exceptional socio-economic importance, have been determined. It has been pointed to the need for regulation in order to ensure the interests and goals of consumers and producers. For research of the food products market, has been proposed to use traditional and non-traditional research methods. The main stages of market analysis are described. The main methods of market research are determined: analysis of secondary information; study of market in terms of production and sales; estimating the costs and consumer behavior; analysis of the food market on the basis of consumption and others. Approaches to evaluation of capacity of the food market are summarized. An analysis of sufficiency of the consumption of food products in Ukraine has been conducted. Groups of products for which the level of consumption in Ukraine is lower than the rational norms have been defined. The necessity for implementation of the demand-supply balance calculations of basic foodstuffs, in view of the need to assess the potentials of the food supply of the population, has been substantiated. The actual volume of the internal Ukrainian food market has been determined. Methods for forecasting capacity of the food market have been generalized.
