Methodolgy, Tools and Possibilities of Structural Analysis of Hook Construction in CAD/CAE System Catia
Journal Title: Mašinstvo - Year 2018, Vol 15, Issue 1
Abstract
This paper presents the methodology of the FEM modeling of the hook and provides a description of the possibility of tools of the module for structural analysis in the CAD / CAE CATIA system. The tools are described for defining: constraints, loads, shapes and types of contacts on the example of the hook, a lower pulley assembly, for which the FEM model is formed and a structural analysis is performed. The structural analysis in CATIA is performed using the finite element method, whereby the observed model is discretized, i.e., is divided into elements of finite dimensions which represent the basis of the observation. The stresses obtained by structural analysis in CATIA are compared with the values of stresses at the characteristic hook locations which are obtained analytically, and based on that, conclusions about the success of modeling and testing in CAD/CAE CATIA system are drawn out.
