Methods of Evaluating Knitted Fabrics with Elastomeric Threads in the Design Process of Compression Products
Journal Title: Fibres and Textiles in Eastern Europe - Year 2018, Vol 26, Issue 3
Abstract
One of the most important stages in the design process of compression products is describing the relationship between the force and elongation of the knitted fabric, using appropriate and scientifically justified force values in the fabric undergoing a stretching and relaxation test, in the form of a hysteresis loop. Research on this issue was carried out on two variants of knitted fabrics with elastomeric threads – a warp and a weft – knitted one. Based on the functions of the relation between the force and relative elongation determined and on Laplace’s law, compression bands with intended values of unit pressure were designed and manufactured and then subjected to experimental verification. In addition, a procedure was presented for dividing compression fabrics into specific compression classes.

Fatigue Life Prediction of Knitted Fabrics Made of Cotton Yarns – A Statistical Approach
In the present paper, an assessment of the fatigue life of knitted (or knit) fabrics made of cotton yarns is discussed. Based on experimental investigations performed, the characteristics of material deterioration and da...
Influence of Silk-Like Finishing Process Variables on Fabric Properties
A 100% PES woven fabric was subjected to a silk-like finishing treatment using a two-factor (soda concentration and vaporisation time), three-level experimental design on a pilot plant in order to examine the influence o...

Functional Nanocomposite Poly(phenylene sulphide) Fibres - Preliminary Studies
Composite poly(phenylene sulphide) (PPS) fibres and nonwovens were obtained by the melt blowing method. A specially designed twin screw extruder was used which allowed to perform several mixing cycles prior to final extr...
Flexural Behaviour of Fibre Reinforced Concrete Beams with Different Aspect Ratios
The performance of conventional concrete is enhanced by the addition of fibres in concrete. Consequently the brittleness in concrete is reduced, and its acceptable ductility is also ensured by this addition. In this pape...
