Miasto jako przestrzeń dzikiej demokracji. Wizualne przejawy współczesnych form tożsamości w przestrzeni miejskiej
Journal Title: Quart. Kwartalnik Instytutu Historii Sztuki Uniwersytetu Wrocławskiego - Year 2017, Vol 45, Issue 3
Abstract
CEZARY WAS (University of Wroclaw) / The city as a space of wild democracy. Visual manifestations of contemporary forms of identity in the urban space Right-wing and conservative tendencies permeating currently many countries in Europe and North America are a kind of counter-revolution against the ideas that formed the foundations of the development of the Western world over the last 50–70 years. One of the reasons for this is the lack of description of values, which – sometimes spontaneously – create awareness of inhabitants of present-day cities. The article is an attempt to describe unusual and intangible characteristics of life in a city, in a community and in a state, which has lost its contours. A particular attention has been devoted to the phenomenon of formation and manifestation of transitional forms of identity focusing on resistance to current social problems.
