MICROFILARIA IN BONE MARROW ASPIRATE: A CASE REPORT

Abstract
Wuchereria bancrofti is the most common parasite causing lymphatic lariasis. Microlariae are demonstrated in the peripheral blood, body uids, ne needle aspirates and in bronchial brushings but it is an uncommon nding in the bone marrow. We report a case of a 45-year old male who presented with pyrexia of unknown origin and on peripheral blood and bone marrow examination found to have pancytopaenia with megaloblastoid changes in the bone marrow and W. bancrofti microlariae.
