Microstrip filter based on 2D inhomogeneities

Abstract

Realization of microstrip narrow-band filters based on 1D- and 2D-inhomogeneities areconsidered. Features impedance dependencies of filter structures are analyzed. There areillustrated, that 2D-inhomogeneities, as electromagnetic waves reflectors, have expandedreflection bandwidth. Amplitude-frequency characteristics that calculated in accordance with1D-model of nonuniform transmission line and with 3D-model from Microwave Studioprogram package are presented. There are illustrated, that 1D-model provides acceptableresults and significant decrease of computational resources. Amplitude-frequencycharacteristic of filter based on 2D-inhomogeneities have significant expanded reflectionbandwidth.
