Między Smart City a Eco-City: poszukiwania struktury idealnej Between Smart City and Eco-City: the Search of an Ideal Structure

Abstract
Rozwój cywilizacyjny oraz po stępujący wraz z nim rozrost miast i wymagania współczesnego społeczeństwa, zmuszają do ciągłych poszukiwań odpowiedzi na pytania o kształt miasta przyszłości. Miasta, które odpowiadałoby na wzrastające potrzeby społeczne, a jednocześnie zapewniałoby dogodne warunki życia zgodne z poszanowaniem dóbr naturalnych, uznanych jako zasoby ograniczone. W niniejszym artykule zestawiono idee smart city i eco-city jako wiodące trendy w budowaniu obrazu miast przyszłości. W drugiej części publikacji przedstawiono obszar wschodniego odcinka rzeki Wisły w Krakowie jako przedmiot teoretycznych wizji uwzględniających wyżej wymienione trendy. Civilisation development and the urban sprawl and requirements of the contemporary society it entails force to constantly search for answers to questions relating to the form of the city of the future. The city which would address the growing social needs, and at the same time would provide favourable living conditions, consistent with the principles of respect for natural resources, recognised to be limited in volume. This paper presents concepts of the smart city and of the eco-city as the leading trends in building the image of cities of the future. The second part of the publication is devoted to the area of the eastern section of the Vistula river in Cracow as the subject of theoretical visions taking the trends referred to above into account.
