Mięsaki tkanek miękkich i kości oraz GIST – relacja z konferencji naukowej: ESMO Conference on Sarcoma and GIST, 9–10 marca 2012, Mediolan, Włochy

Abstract
W dniach 9–10 marca 2012 r. w Mediolanie (Włochy) odbyła się konferencja naukowo-szkoleniowa zorganizowana przez Europejskie Towarzystwo Onkologii Medycznej (ESMO, European Society of Medical Oncology) poświęcona mięsakom oraz nowotworom podścieliska przewodu pokarmowego (GIST, gastrointestinal stromal tumour). Konferencja ta organizowana jest od czterech lat, w obecnej edycji wzięło udział ponad trzysta osób zainteresowanych tematyką mięsaków. Wśród zaproszonych wykładowców byli światowi liderzy opinii z dziedziny onkologii, chirurgii, radioterapii, patologii, biologii molekularnej oraz radiologii, zajmujący się przede wszystkim zagadnieniami mięsaków i GIST. W czasie konferencji przedstawione zostały informacje dotyczące histologicznych i molekularnych aspektów mięsaków tkanek miękkich i GIST istotnych w praktyce klinicznej. Wielokrotnie zwracano uwagę na konieczność wielodyscyplinarnego podejścia do leczenia mięsaków tkanek miękkich i GIST, zaprezentowano aktualne informacje na temat najnowszych rekomendacji oraz podkreślano ogromną rolę badań klinicznych i translacyjnych koniecznych w rozwoju wiedzy na temat tych nowotworów. Poniżej przedstawiono najważniejsze informacje ze spotkania.
