Mikrobiota przewodu pokarmowego człowieka a metabolizm środowiskowych ksenobiotyków

Abstract
Results of recent research studies suggests that numerous beneficial interactions occur between a human and their microbiota, including those that are essential for good health. Exposure to environmental pollutants and other chemical compunds as some food additives have been linked to various health disorders and diseases including cancer, metabolic diseases, dysregulation of immune and reproducive systems. The toxicological relevance of the bacteria-xenobiotic interplay for the host and some pieces of evidence of modulation of the toxicity by microbiom have been shown in this article. ............................... Wyniki wielu badań naukowych przeprowadzonych w ostatnich latach sugerują istnienie dobroczynnych interakcji zachodzących pomiędzy ludzkim organizmem a jego florą bakteryjną włączając w to te, których znaczenie jest podstawowe dla utrzymania dobrego stanu zdrowia. Narażenia na zanieczyszczenia środowiska i inne związki chemiczne jak np. niektóre dodatki do żywności związane są z występowaniem raka, chorób metabolicznych i zaburzeniami układu odpornościowego i reprodukcji. W artykule omówiono znaczenie interakcji zachodzących pomiędzy mikrobiomem a organizmem gospodarza, ilustrując to przykładami modulacji toksyczności związków chemicznych przez mikrobiom organizmu ludzkiego.
