Minimal invasive and effective therapy of faecal incontinence with a preanal tape
Journal Title: Pelviperineology - Year 2020, Vol 39, Issue 4
Abstract
Objective: The existing surgical therapy modalities for the treatment of faecal incontinence do not provide satisfactory results. Our understanding of the pelvic floor anatomy and physiological biomechanics of the anal canal are the basis for the theoretical development and practical therapy of faecal incontinence. Materials and Methods: According to the Integral Theory System and similarly to a suburethral sling, a preanal sling is placed under the pelvic floor. Results: The presented operation was successfully done on three patients beyond treatment for their faecal incontinence. Conclusion: We present a simple and functional surgical method for the treatment of faecal incontinence.

Effects of the apical suspension of the upper vagina by cervicosacropexy or vaginosacropexy on stress and mixed urinary incontinence
Objective: Cervicosacropexy (CESA) and vaginosacropexy (VASA) are standardized surgical procedures to elevate and tighten the apical end of the vagina. A combination of CESA or VASA, and a transobturator tape was reporte...
Anatomical outcomes of laparoscopic high uterosacral ligament suspension for primary apical prolapse
Objective: We aimed to evaluate the short-term anatomical results of laparoscopic high uterosacral ligament suspension (LHUSLS) in the surgical treatment of apical prolapse. Materials and Methods: Medical records of thi...
Pain mapping: A mechanisms-oriented protocol for the assessment of chronic pelvic pain and urogenital pain syndromes
Objective: Chronic pelvic pain (CPP) and various pelvic dysfunctions are best assessed by consultants with knowledge and training in myofascial pain. The prevalence of myofascial pain is recognised but what is needed is...
Non-conventional haemorrhoid symptoms reported by female patients
Objective: This study was undertaken to assess the importance of several non-conventional symptoms, including perianal hygiene, to female patients undergoing haemorrhoidectomy and to correlate these with the presence of...
Case report: Application of the biomechanical model of Fascial Manipulation® in the case of vulvodynia
Vulvodynia is one of the more common pelvic floor dysfunction that women suffer from and affects up to 20% of women and is mostly seen as a dysfunction of the pelvis, lumbar spine and hip joint. It is not enough to base...
