Abstract
The article describes the problem associated with the piston-cylinder group and in particular issues minimizing the consumption of its individual parts such as a piston, piston rings and cylinder. Were presented methods to minimize wear of the piston-cylinder used in modern internal combustion engines. It also contains a description of the piston-cylinder elements comprising it and a description of the working conditions and phenomena processes wear.
