MIPIOS –Medical Image Processing Application Oriented For Mobile Devices
Journal Title: Acta Technica Napocensis- Electronica-Telecomunicatii (Electronics and Telecommunications) - Year 2012, Vol 53, Issue 3
Abstract
Mobility is thought as a key concept that fundamentally changed our way of working and interacting during professional life. However, mobility is a concept of particular interest in the field of medicine and particularly in tele-health. In this paper we present a novel application whose main objective is to take advantage of the major advances of mobile devices for immediate application in the medical domain. We designed our application entitled MIPiOS (Medical Image Processing on iOS) for manipulating, analyzing and processing medical images in DICOM format by using the benefits of touchscreens. With the addition of the Retina Display for several mobile devices produced by Apple, our proposed application’s benefits are even more easily to be exploited because of better finger gestures recognition, better resolution and better contrast.
Novel Voltage-Controlled Amplifiers For Multistandard Integrated Radio Receivers
This paper proposes a new architecture for transconductance (Gm)-based variable-gain amplifiers (VGA) that is better suited for multi-standard radio receivers than the classical two-Gm structure: its bandwidth and linear...
LabView FPGA Implementation of Digital Reverberators
Dealing with large amounts of data always was a delicate operation. Mobile telecommunications operators need high quality management systems to provide top-class services for their customers. The challenge is to assure d...
Camera Phone Based Barcode Decoding System
We propose a 1D barcode acquisition and decoding system based on the use of J2ME enabled mobile phones. The approach relies on image processing techniques to correct the distortions introduces by the acquisition device,...
Defect detection and restoration of heritage images
One of the major problems of the old artworks is their degradation due to aging. As a result, the digitized artworks images exhibit a series of defects. Whereas scientific methods were applied to the analysis and restora...
Bearing Defects Signals Demodulation Using Shock Filters
A fundamental problem in the development of faults detection and diagnoses methods is to obtain fault signature data as clear as is possible. This article is focused on vibration signals generated by rolling bearings wit...
