Miscanthus giganteus as an auxiliary raw material for semichemical and chemical hardwood pulp production

Abstract

Miscanthus giganteus as an auxiliary raw material for semichemical and chemical hardwood pulp production. This paper shows the results of sulfate and neutral sulfite cooking of plant stalks of Miscanthus giganteus and birch wood with the addition of Miscanthus stalks as complementary raw material. Miscanthus stalks undergo rapid delignification using sulfate and neutral sulfite liquors. The degree of wood and Miscanthus stalks delignification has increased in relation to the results obtained while using only wood. The results of initial experiments indicate the potential use of the additive of Miscanthus in industrial processes.
