Mobile technologies for learning: Assessment of mobile learning literacy among students at the Faculty of arts, University of Delhi

Abstract

It is an attempt to evaluate students learning through mobile technology. The analysis has been done on the basis of framework proposed by Ng (2013) and was primarily divided into three themes namely: (a) concept of mobile Learning and student awareness to it; (b) An underdeveloped mobile Learn literacy; and (c) mobile Learn campus :student expectations. This paper put forth the general level of mobile learning literacy and critical awareness of the students towards use of mobile technology for learning, at the University of Delhi. This research is an attempt to draw the attention of the authorities towards the need to develop programs at university, college and department level to orient users to use mobile devices, to groom them into mobile Learn literate. It has implications to draft policy for promoting mobile Learn university campus, implement mobile Learn teaching and learning programs at the colleges and departments and to develop curriculum to start with mobile Learn classes and focus on the introduction of this new dynamic system of knowledge dissemination after computers and laptops.
