Modeling of quasicrystal lattices with a 4-fold symmetry axis
Journal Title: Journal of Physics and Electronics - Year 2018, Vol 26, Issue 2
Abstract
The construction method of a quasilattice with a four-fold rotational symmetry axis is proposed. The described method is based on the recurrent generation of the initial group of lattice points, which are a set of vertices of a square. The aperiodic crystal reciprocal lattice modeling algorithm is analyzed. Used modeling technique is compared with conventional projection approach. The orthogonal basis of a four-dimensional hypercubic lattice is proposed. This lattice produces two-dimensional quasicrystal with a four-fold symmetry axis after it projection on a flat surface. It is shown that the indexation of diffraction pattern of similar quasiperiodic structures can be carry out using 3 integer indexes, which is analogous to the indexing system proposed by Cahn for application to icosahedral quasicrystals.

Effect of thermal treatment on structure and leakage current of Na0.5Bi0.5TiO3 thin films
Na0.5Bi0.5TiO thin films were grown on heated to 200°С Pt/TiO2/SiO2/Si substrates by ex-situ method with high-frequency (13.56 MHz) magnetron deposition. Thermal treatment of the films was carried out at 650°С, 700°С and...
Physical properties and structure of vapor-quenched immiscible alloys
The method of modernized ion-plasma sputtering produced metastable states, including nanocrystalline and amorphous phases in films of Fe-Ag, Fe-Bi, Fe-Ag-Bi, Fe-Co-Ag and Ni-Ag alloys whose components do not mixed in the...
Optical properties of clusters
In this paper, we discuss in detail the theoretical results obtained with using the local functional density method in parameteric approximation of silicon clusters. One of the main conclusions is that the comparison bet...
Conductivity of lithium heptagermanate glasses and single crystals doped with 3d- ions
Lithium heptagermanate Li2Ge7O15 glasses doped with Cr and Mn were prepared by the melt quenching. Electrical conductivity σ of pure and doped glasses was measured in AC field (f=1 kHz) within the temperature range 300-7...
Phase and structural transformations in copper and its alloys under the electrolytic discharge
Copper and its alloy were treated in an electrolytic plasma formed in the boron-containing electrolyte under the action of discharge in order to obtain a diffusion coating with enhanced hardening characteristics and the...
