Modeling of the microwave phase-shifter output spectrum with effect of phase distortion

Abstract
Introduction. Nowadays, radio measuring devices began using digital phase shifters (DFS). Although they have several advantages over analog, but there are some problems faced by the developers of radio-electronic devices and systems based on them. In particular, when the frequency is translated, we have information losses contained in the frequency and amplitude. Main body. DFS that based on long transmission-lines do not have these drawbacks, but in the output spectrum of these devices we have an impact of inaccuracy phase and amplitude distortion that occurs during the formation of phase distortion. The authors have modeled the effect of phase distortion on the output spectrum of the DFS. The formula of the original spectrum was obtained as a result by authors. The spectral components at a switching frequency 16kHz and phase distortion ±5° were obtained with the software package Matlab2012a. Conclusion. The greater errors establishment of phase discrete are so much the greater array of side harmonics.
