Modeling the process of purchase payment as a constituent of information security in e-commerce
Journal Title: Operations Research and Decisions - Year 2016, Vol 26, Issue 3
Abstract
A mathematical model of the process of payment for purchases in an online store has been pre-sented. The model belongs to the class of semi-open queueing networks with four phases of exponential servers and Poisson arrivals. The authors describe in detail the derivation of the equations describing the system. Analytic expressions are derived on the basis of the proposed model for the average number of online store customers who have already paid for goods. Practical implementation of the model allows us to determine the number of clients who have added goods to their cart, but have not yet passed through the payment verification system, and thus determine the stream of real customers of the online store.

Are we done with preference rankings? If we are, then what?
Intransitive, incomplete and discontinuous preferences are not always irrational but may be based on quite reasonable considerations. Hence, we pursue the possibility of building a theory of social choice on an alternati...
A multi-level decision making model for the supplier selection problem in a fuzzy situation
Supplier selection plays a vital role in evolving an effective supply chain and the overall performance of organisations. Choosing suppliers may involve different levels arranged in a hierarchical structure. Decisions ar...
Orders of criticality in voting games
The authors focus on the problem of investigating the blackmail power of players in simple games, which is the possibility of players of threatening coalitions to cause them loss using arguments that are (apparently) unj...
Energy prosumers: profiling the energy microgeneration market in Lower Silesia, Poland
Microgeneration of energy has the potential to become an important component of the energy policy of many governments, because it may substantially lower carbon emissions and reduce the need for new infrastructure. Never...
