Journal Title: Здоров`я дитини - Year 2015, Vol 8, Issue 68
Abstract
The review of literature has enabled to consider modern methods for the diagnosis of thyroid disease. There were analyzed the diagnostic possibilities of clinical-anamnestic, laboratory and instrumental methods, characterized by their informativity and invasiveness. Knowledge of indications on the use of imaging techniques (ultrasound, scintigraphy, computed tomography, nuclear magnetic resonance), needle biopsy, cytological and functional study of disorders of the thyroid gland and other organs and systems, contribute to early diagnosis of endocrine diseases such as congenital or acquired hypothyroidism, diffuse or nodular goiter, thyrotoxicosis (hyperthyroidism), autoimmune thyroiditis, and helps to identify comorbidities of the target organs, enabling to carry out therapeutic and preventive measures in children timely and most effectively, to enhance their socialization, quality of life and to prevent the development of disability.
