Modern state and prospects of diagnostics of lung diseases caused by nontuberculous mycobacteria

Abstract

Nowadays, in the world, various patterns of phenotypic and genotypic diagnostics of M. tuberculosis and nontuberculous mycobacteria, which are the causative agents of mycobacteriosis, are being introduced into practice. This is necessary in order to minimize the time of identification of mycobacteria. Using these methods allows you to get complete information about the causative agent of tuberculosis and mycobacteriosis in the case of the disease with a small bacterial excretion. The aim of the work is to assess the situation regarding the spread of mycobacteriosis diseases and analysis of prospects for the phenogenotypic diagnosis of these diseases. To the literary review, information is driven about the causative agents of mycobacteriosis – nontuberculous mycobacteria. Various approaches to their classification are characterized. The modern methods of revealing and authentication of nontuberculous mycobacteria are expounded; the estimation of their efficiency is conducted. Attention is paid to modern methods of genotypic diagnosis of mycobacteriosis. The analysis of the main scientific sources shows that the current problem is a progressive increasing in the incidence of mycobacteriosis and there are difficulties in laboratory diagnostics of their pathogens. Conclusions. Currently, mycobacteriosis are a serious problem for both clinicians and laboratory specialists. A significant variety of pathogens, the complexity of the pre-analytical stage, the ambiguity of microscopic examination and cultivation methods, the introduction of principally new identification methods into practice require the development of regulatory documents that would regulate the algorithms of laboratory diagnosis and identification of etiologically significant NTMB. This issue is particularly acute due to a significant increase in the incidence of HIV infection and increasing in the number of patients with severe immunodeficiencies.
