Modernization of the legislation of the European Union in the sphere of copyright and related rights in the digital age. Impact on Ukraine

Abstract
In this Article the author considers the legal developments to be expected in the European Union in the sphere of regulation of the copyright and related rights. The fundamental changes as proposed by the draft Directive on copyright in the Digital Single Market will have decisive influence on the development of the media sector and online services not only in the territory of Europe, but in the whole world. In this work she explores the issue of regulation of liability of Internet platforms under the prospective legislation of the European Union. The author analyzes the new rules applicable to the transborder distribution of the programs of broadcasters via Internet in the European Union.
