MODIFIED GINI INDEX CLASSIFICATION: A CASE STUDY OF HEART DISEASE DATASET
Journal Title: International Journal on Computer Science and Engineering - Year 2010, Vol 2, Issue 6
Abstract
Classification has been used for predicting medical diagnosis. Classification methods can handle both numerical and categorical attributes. Gini index uses the method which biases multivalued attributes. When the number of classes are large, and the biases are increased, the Gini-based decision tree method is modified to overcome the known problems, by normalizing the Gini indexes by taking into account information about the splitting status of all attributes. Instead of using the Gini index for attribute selection ratios of Gini indexes are used and their splitting values in order to reduce the biases. Experiments are done on heart diseases dataset and Report of experimental graph is shown by comparing between the modified method and other known classification algorithms ID3, c4.5, Generalized Gini Index classifies relevant parts into various groups

An Efficient Approach for Image Recognition using Data Mining
Skin region detection plays an important role in a variety of applications such as face detection, adult image filtering and gesture recognition. We present some definitions about digital imaging or numerical imaging and...
Efficient Processing of XML Documents in Hadoop Map Reduce
XML has dominated the enterprise landscape for fifteen years and still remains the most commonly used data format. Despite its popularity the usage of XML for "Big Data" is challenging due to its semi-structured nature a...
A Cascaded Incoherent Spectrum Sliced Transversal Photonic Microwave Filters-An Analysis
An analysis of the performance of a simple, incoherent spectrum sliced microwave photonic filter is presented. This filter structure is based on cascading of two incoherent fiber Fabry -Pérot filters as a slicing element...
Spectrum sensing and Spectrum shifting implementation in a Cognitive Radio based IEEE 802.22 Wireless Regional Area Network
With the technological advancement in wireless applications more effective and efficient utilization of the available spectrum became the urgent requirement. According to the IEEE 802.22 standard the unlicensed secondary...
Step Counting Using Smartphone-Based Accelerometer
This paper presents a method for counting the number of steps taken by a user, while walking at any variable speed, using smartphone-based accelerometer. For this purpose, the steps are detected based on a relation betwe...
