Modified Mapping Rules For English To Marathi Translation

Abstract

Natural Language Processing is the growing area of research. Machine Translation, an integral part of Natural Language Processing, is important for breaking the language barrier and facilitating the inter-lingual communication .In the process of translation, the last and important step is the mapping of the grammar rules. This is a crucial step as different languages have different grammar structures. For the scope of this paper, English is the Source Language and Marathi is the Target Language. Thus for the appropriate translation of English to Marathi we need to map Subject-Verb-Object structure of English to Subject-Object-Verb structure of Marathi. This paper gives an idea of how the rules can be applied for different types of sentences.
