MONITORING AN ELECTRIC MOTOR INTEGRATED IN AN AUTOMATED SYSTEM
Journal Title: Proceedings in Manufacturing Systems - Year 2015, Vol 10, Issue 1
Abstract
This paper presents the progress from the field of integrated automation and safety systems that assure a well functioning of manufacturing equipments. Nowadays, many devices have sensors that monitor operational parameters. This advancement was made in order to protect the equipment and to prevent them from malfunctioning or stopping. Considering that equipments work in real time, the system response is essential and must be instantly or with a response time as low as possible. Adopting an appropriate solution requires knowledge of automation as a complete development process, technological restrictions and also designing and choosing a solution so that the conceptual structure and enabling automation equipment meets the performance requirements of the system. Through this work it is intended to reach further to new solutions for the automation of a integrated system, the study of an active control of the parameters from a drive system of machine tools and programming of an automated system that has integrated logic. As an application, it is presented how a temperature sensor was implemented in a automated system in order to prevent the electric motor to overheat and malfunction.

Task-oriented off-line parametric programming of an industrial robot serving CNC lathes
Industrial robotic arms are often employed in machine tool tending. If the scope of programming is restricted to a specific machine tool type, the tasks involved become standard to a large extent. Therefore, the correspo...
Calculus algorithm for evaluation of gravitational and inertial loads acting on a SCARA industrial robot in pick and place applications
In this paper a calculus methodology for optimal structure design of numerically controled (NC) axes of SCARA industrial robot (IR) is presented. Besides identification of optimal structure, also a performance check is p...
The relevance of fixed costs in the diagnosis of operating risk to SME’S
Due to their weak capitalization and low negotiation power on the market, small and medium-size enterprises (SME) have a high vulnerability to changes in the environment they operate. These vulnerabilities can significan...
Measuring current discharge stored energy in capacitors welding
This paper presents an alternative for measuring the discharge current welding with stored energy in capacitors. Spot welding equipment with stored energy electrostatic allow very harsh regimes that ensure very short tim...
