Motywacja w sztukach i sportach walki na przykładzie judo i Pszczyńskiej Sztuki Walki

Abstract

Background. The purpose of the study was to analyze the problem of motivation in martial arts and sports. The studied sports were judo and Pszczyńska Martial Art. Material and methods. The sample consisted of 110 people in the Voivodships of Silesia and Lesser Poland. The diagnostic survey method was used. The study tool used was the Sport Moti­va­tion Scale by Luc G. Pelletier et al. Statistically significant differences were estimated at p 0.05. Results. Intrinsic motivation to know and intrinsic motivation to accomplish things proved dominant among judo contenders and people practicing Pszczyńska Martial Art, respectively. Statistically significant differences depending on the type of martial art were found in the case of introjected, identified, external regulation and amotivation. The degree significantly influenced the level of amotivation, external and identified regulation. Conclusions. The finding may be used to reduce the martial arts and sports dropout rates and to increase the number of adepts achieving mastery.
