Muhlisî’s An Elegiac Poetry For Cem Sultan

Abstract

We think that Muhlisî lived between XV-XVI. century. He wrote an elegiac poetry about Cem Sultan. We can understand that he was a relation with Cem Sultan by means of this elegiac poetry. It is a relation Cem Sultan could protect him. In addition he might take favour from Cem Sultan. Even though hi didn’t live next to Cem Sultan, he could be a poem liking Cem Sultan. Under any circumstances Muhlisî, demonsrated that he was really inter Cem Sultan with the elegiac poetry and he wanted to repay the loyalty debt to Cem Sultan. The poetry of Muhlisî, resembles a poetry which Şeyhî being the firs great poem in XV. century wrote for Germiyan Bey. This resembling springs to mind that Muhlisî wrote the poetry taking insprition from Şeyhî. In this direction the article includes the similarity between two poetry as well as the elegiac poetry of Cem Sultan.
