Набис и илоты

Abstract
Pассматривается политика спартанского царя Набиса по отношению к илотам. Показаны существенные отличия социальной политики Набиса от политики его предшественников – царей-реформаторов Агиса и Клеомена. Делается вывод о том, что Набис использовал совершенно новый принцип пополнения гражданского коллектива: он освободил и сделал полноправными гражданами некоторых илотов, однако полностью уничтожить илотию царь не успел. Утверждается, что Набис, принимая илотов и иностранцев как полноправных членов гражданской общины, создал совершенно иной тип гражданина-подданного, преданного не столько государству, сколько правителю лично. Рассматриваются радикальные социальные реформы Набиса, отменившие архаические принципы формирования гражданства, вместе с которыми окончательно ушла в прошлое и Ликургова Спарта.
