Nano Technology in Construction
Journal Title: IOSR Journal of Mechanical and Civil Engineering (IOSR-JMCE) - Year 2018, Vol 15, Issue 1
Abstract
Nanotechnology is one of the most active research areas that encompass a number of disciplines, including civil engineering and construction materials. The Nano-materials and their applications in civil engineering field across its different sections are exemplified. The properties like self-sensing, selfrehabilitation, self-structural health monitoring, self-vibration damping, self-cleaning and self-healing are studied. The objective of this study is to review the role of nanotechnology in civil engineering applications. Furthermore, it has been observed that better understanding and engineering of complex structures made by cement, steel or composite materials at nano-level will definitely result in a new generation of construction materials with higher performance in strength, durability, and other properties.

Relative Study of Nonlinear Analysis for Torsional Strengthened RC Beams with Web Opening using CFRP and Steel Plates
This paper displays the numerical study on fortifying reinforced concrete (RC) beams with opening exposed to unadulterated torsion. The finite elements implemented by ANSYS-2013 are used for this study. For the purpose o...
Influence of Mesh Geometry and Mesh Refinement on Mathematical Models of Thermoplastic Injection Simulation Tools
The use of polymer materials by different segments of the industry has grown every year due to numerous advantages, being the injection of thermoplastics one of the processes most used to make this application viable. In...
Laser& Electrical Beam Welding
Both laser welding and electron beam welding produce extremely high-quality joints. Many consider laser welding first, simply because it’s less costly in many circumstances—but not all. Which to choose depends, as always...
Study of Using Sum to Improve Digital Archives Integrity of Traditional Architectures with 3D Laser Scanning Technology
3D laser scanning technology has been widely applied to digital archive and management of historical buildings, and that is enormous contributions for human civilization inherited. But the technology is limited by comple...
Optimization of Distribution Network of Nigerian Bottling Company PLC Using LINGO
This research on Optimization of Distribution Network using LINGO was carried out in the Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) which has many distribution centres all over the country. Three plants and twenty two warehouses wi...
