Nasal myiasis in a patient hospitalized at Ege University Hospital

Abstract
Myiasis is an infestation caused by Dipterous fly maggots various organs and tissues of animals or humans. It receives the name of the affected organ. Nasal myiasis is mostly caused by Sarcophagidae and Calliphoridae families in Turkey. In this report, we present a 59-year-old female patient who admitted to Anaesthesia Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Ege University Hospital by a diagnosis of nasal myiasis. Reported myiasis cases are much less in our country when compared to other countries. We want to take attention to myiasis cases at ICU. Simple precautions will make it possible to eliminate myiasis cases at ICU.
