National ecological network as an object of legal regulation: theoretic and legal understanding

Abstract
On the basis of study of scientific and legal approaches to ecological network there have been found that econetwork is multifunctional category and is used in many branches of science. The analysis of historical roots of environmental law have shown that idea of econetwork had arisen in the Soviet period named as natural areas, which are protected by state and had transformed in current denotation under influence of international community. Now, national ecological network have been considered as: an object of legal regulation; a basic of sustainable development; a single territorial system; a means of biodiversity conservation; a legal format of landscape protection; a means of ecosystem approach implementation. There has produced author’s own doctrinal understanding of econetwork as a strategy of management of protected areas.
