NATIONAL JURISDICTION IN THE AREA OF THE MERCHANT SHIPPING

Abstract
In this article the concept of "national jurisdiction" is considered. In particular, the extension of the jurisdiction in the area of the merchant shipping was analyzed. Historical development, variants of interpretation, extension zones were viewed. The problem of clashing of jurisdictions of the different countries was contemplated.
