NATIONAL-PATRIOTIC UPBRINGING OF PUPILS AT THE LESSONS OF MATHEMATICS AT THE COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL

Abstract

The article substantiates the value of patriotic upbringing for the modern youth. The importance of such upbringing at Mathematics at the comprehensive school is carried out in details and educational opportunities of such activities are analyzed (applying of biographies of famous Ukrainians, the achievements of Ukrainian people in the different sectors of the economy, drawing up and solving sums with national patriotic content and so on). The authors also lighted out the goals and objectives, which are to create a sense of patriotism, analyzed the level of patriotic upbringing in the psychological and pedagogical literature. It was revealed that among scholars the well-known Ukrainian pedagogue-innovator V. Sukhomlynskyi was most fully and deeply involved in the issue of educating students in national traditions. The teaching methods that ensure the effectiveness of the process of patriotic upbringing of schoolchildren at Mathematics lessons in a modern school are examined in the article. For this purpose, the experience of the Mathematics teacher of the Kramatorsk secondary school number 25 Sych Liudmyla Petrivna was used. The authors step by step, starting with the 5th grade, provided practical examples of tasks and sums, the content of which is aimed at nurturing a sense of patriotism among the modern youth. So, among the students of 5-6 grades, it is very important to form the basis for the formation of love for their native language, land, region, and their city. Schoolchildren of 7-9 grades deepen and expand knowledge about the culture and crafts of the Ukrainian people. Education of high school students is aimed at fostering a sense of respect and pride in the achievements of Ukrainian scholars and mathematicians, their theoretical and practical developments.
