Nature inspired dyes for the sensitization of titanium dioxide photocatalyst
Journal Title: CHEMIK nauka-technika-rynek - Year 2013, Vol 67, Issue 12
Abstract
Three polymethine dyes with indoline end groups were studied. Based on electrochemical and spectroscopic data it was shown that their LUMO energy is higher in energy than the conductance band edge of anatase TiO2 and hence they may act as sensitisers. Photocatalytic test results showed that the most active is the dye without any substituents in the polymethine chain.
