A Novel Irreversible Transformation Scheme for Biometric Template Protection
Journal Title: IOSR Journals (IOSR Journal of Computer Engineering) - Year 2015, Vol 17, Issue 5
Abstract
Abstract: Modern biometric technologies claim to provide alternative solution to traditional authentication processes. Even though there are various advantages of biometric process, it is vulnerable to attacks which can decline its security. In this paper, we propose a Novel Irreversible Transformation Scheme (ITS) to SecureBiometric Templates based on Chaotic Maps which are known to posses desirable properties of pseudo randomness, high sensitivity to initial conditions and very large key space. The simulation and analysis results shows that the proposed chaos based ITS is computationally simple compared to standard traditionalcryptographic algorithms and provides better security performance.
