An Approach to Color Image enhancement Using Modified Histogram
Journal Title: INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF ENGINEERING TRENDS AND TECHNOLOGY - Year 2013, Vol 4, Issue 9
Abstract
Image enhancement is one of the key issues in high quality pictures such as digital camera and HDTV. Since Image clarity is very easily affected by lighting, weather, or equipment that has been used to capture the image. These conditions lead to image may suffer from loss of information. In this paper a new technique is introduced to enhance color images with dim regions ,In this technique the lightness component in YIQ color space is transformed then the traditional histogram equalization (HE) method is applied on Y component. The result of modified histogram equalization (MHE) algorithm has been compared with the result of other method like Adaptive Integrated Neighborhood Dependent Approach for Nonlinear Enhancement of Color Images (AINDANE), traditional histogram equalization and Homomorphic Filtering. All algorithms have implemented using Matlab

Performance Analysis of SVM, k-NN and BPNN Classifiers for Motor Imagery
This paper presents the results obtained by the experiments carried out in the project which aims to classify EEG signal for motor imagery into right hand movement and left hand movement in Brain Computer Interface (BCI)...
SPEED CONTROL OF PMSM BY USING DSVM -DTC TECHNIQUE
The Direct Torque Control (DTC) requires low computational power when implemented digitally for AC drives. The DTC possess good dynamic performance but shows quite poor performance in steady-state since the crude...
Inadequate and Poor Electricity Metering Affect Energy Efficiency End-user Behaviour in Nigeria
Electricity metering has been identified as one of technologies where end-use energy efficiency can particularly be encouraged in households through its impact on tenants’ behaviour. Inadequate metering is one of the imm...
Convolutional Coded On-Off Keying Free-Space Optical Links over Fading Channels
The performance of Free Space Optical (FSO) systems reduces due to the presence of turbulence and misalignment effects. In this paper, we investigate the error control coding schemes as a candidate solution to miti...
