Anticorrosive properties of styrene-acrylic resins containing aluminum tripolyphosphate

Abstract

 Aluminum tripolyphosphate was introduced into the dispersion solution of styrene-acrylic emulsion The laser particle size analy- zer was used to analyse the distribution and particles size of the latex particle. The anticorrosion performance of styrene-acrylic resins/aluminum tripolyphosphate was studied using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), salt spray standard test according to ASTM B-117 and adhesion tests. The results indicated the pro- tective performance of styrene-acrylic resins was improved by ad- ding aluminum tripolyphosphate.
