CONVERGENCE PROPERTIES OF THE MODIFIED NUMEROV RELATED BLOCK METHODS
Journal Title: Academic Research International - Year 2013, Vol 4, Issue 1
Abstract
In this paper, we derived the modified 3-point Numerov block method from multistep collocation involving off-step interpolation point / .The methods were derived for solution of second order initial value problems (IVP’s). The single continuous formulation is evaluated at , = 2 and its first derivative evaluated at = while its second derivative evaluated at = , = 1 2 . The combination of the discrete schemes results in a block method which is tested on non- stiff problem at h=0.1 to demonstrate its efficiency.
