ECONOMIC ESSENCE OF THE CATEGORY OF "POTENTIAL"

Abstract
The object of the research is the formation and development of the economic system potential. The subject of the research is theoretical aspects of the formation and development of the economic system potential. Purpose. The purpose of this paper is the substantiation of economic essence of the category of “potential". Research Methods. The theoretical basis of the paper is the dialectical method of understanding of economic phenomena and processes, the fundamental concepts of economic theory and scientific papers of national and foreign scholars on the study of the potential essential nature. Results. Fundamental philosophical categories of "ability", "opportunity" and "reality» potential are used to substantiate the essential content of the concept of "potential". They reflect the main stages in the formation and development of an object or phenomenon. It is proved that the reality is the result of capability actualization. The identity is manifested in the form: potency is possibility and update is the reality It is considered that the transition of the phase of "potency" in the phase of "actualization" for the economic system is inextricably linked with conscious human activity, which leads it into action to implement and achieve a certain goal. Use an effective approach to determining the nature of "potential" enables focusing on many alternative versions of the system. For economic activity it is important to choose the decision on the best financial outcome The scope of results. The logical scheme of the potential concept provides a hierarchical structuring of its levels and lets reasonably allocate resources, production and economic kinds. Conclusions. The meaning of "potential" is the reflection of alternatives and the probability of the final economic system outcome.
