Effect of Suspended Particles on the Onset of Thermal Convection in Compressible Elastico-Viscous Fluid in a Brinkman Porous Medium
Journal Title: Caspian Journal of Applied Sciences Research - Year 2012, Vol 1, Issue 10
Abstract
In this paper, the effect of suspended particles on thermal convection in compressible elastico-viscous fluid in a porous medium is considered. For the porous medium, the Brinkman model is employed and Walters’ (Model B^') fluid model is used to describe the rheological behavior of elastico-viscous fluid . By applying normal mode analysis method, the dispersion relation has been derived and solved analytically and numerically. It is observed that the medium permeability, suspended particles, gravity field and viscoelasticity introduce oscillatory modes. For stationary convection, it is observed that the Darcy number has stabilizing effect whereas the suspended particles and medium permeability has destabilizing effects on the system.
