Effects of hydrogen induced delay fracture on high-strength steel plate of automobile and the improvement
Journal Title: Frattura ed Integrità Strutturale - Year 2016, Vol 10, Issue 36
Abstract
Delay fracture is an environmental embrittlement occurring when materials, environment and stress interact with each other and also a form of hydrogen induced material deterioration. It is a leading factor inhibiting the further improvement of strength of steel and iron material. Hence this study analyzed the improved low-carbon Mn-B type ultra-high strength steel plate (1500 MPa) which were processed by conventional heat treatment and heating forming technique and explored the effects of tempering temperature and heating forming technique on the performance of hydrogen induced delay fracture, which provides a reference for the actual application of such kind of steel plate.

Case studies in numerical simulation of crack trajectories in brittle materials
Statistical Fracture Mechanics, formalism of few natural ideas is applied to simulation of crack trajectories in brittle material. The “diffusion approximation” of the crack diffusion model represents crack traject...
On monitoring of mechanical characteristics of hot rolled S355J2 steel
Hot rolling normalization technology for producing sheets from a low-carbon steel, Steel S355J2, used in the Bulgarian Metallurgical Plant “STOMANA Industry SA” is under investigation. A newly introduced auto...
Development of an engineering methodology for non-linear fracture analysis of impact-damaged pressurized spacecraft structures
Motivated by the dramatic worsening and uncertainty of orbital debris situation, the present paper is focused on the structural integrity of the spacecraft pressurized modules/pressure vessels. The objective is to...
Application of Digital Image Correlation (DIC) in resonance machines for measuring fatigue crack growth
This paper presents a simple experimental procedure that greatly facilitates the use of digital image correlation (DIC) techniques in fatigue test conducted in resonant testing machines, without the need of test...
Fatigue crack growth behavior of Inconel 718 produced by selective laser melting
Additive layer manufacturing has recently gained a lot of interest due to the feasibility of producing metallic components directly from a computer-aided design file of the part. Selective laser melting, one of th...
