Abstract
Sooner or later Poland will join the banking union. The balance of benefits and losses resulting from joining the banking union will depend on Poland’s participating in the costs connected with the union. Accordingly, we should actively participate in the European debate on the banking union and propose solutions which will not discriminate against relatively secure domestic banks. It is economically justifiable that fees paid on the resolution fund depend on risks generated by banks and their assets size. Such a solution is in the interest of the Polish economy.
