Experimental Techniques to find Thermal Residual Stress in Composite Materials –A study of the Literature Review
Journal Title: International Journal of Engineering Sciences & Research Technology - Year 30, Vol 3, Issue 11
Abstract
If two dissimilar materials are joined at high temperature, a very high residual stresses developed near the interface of materials. The mismatch between the co-efficient of thermal expansion leads to stress concentrations at the interface. These Residual stresses were found to affect the composites matrix-dominated, mechanical and durability properties, as well as to inflict damage and dimensional instability. Over the last years several methods have been developed to measure the residual stresses. This paper aims to explain the different experimental methods to measure residual stresses and to provide overview of advancement in this area to help researchers to choose on their applications.7

Effect of Micro Silica on the Strength Properties of Waste Plastic Fibre Reinforced Concrete - an Experimental Investigation
In this paper an attempt has been made to study the effect of addition of Microsilica and replacement cement by Microsilica in different percentages on the properties of workability and strength characteristics of...
Innovative Method for Saltwater Intrusion Control
Salt water intrusion is the migration of saltwater into freshwater aquifers under the influence of groundwater development (Freeze and Cherry, 1979). The most detrimental effect that ground water depletion causes...
ANALYSIS OF SURFACE ROUGHNESS AND MATERIAL REMOVAL RATE IN DRY AND THERMAL ASSISTED MACHINING OF EN8 STEEL
It is widely understood that aerospace materials such as titanium, nickel based alloys and high strength steels are difficult to machine owing to their favorable material properties. An alternative pathway to achi...
SMALL SCALE SOLAR STILL – A REVIEW
In this communication an attempt has been made to review, in brief, work on small scale solar still. The review includes purification methods including the state of art and historical background. The classificatio...
Location Updation for Highly Dynamic and Scalable Ad Hoc Network in Geographic Routing
In geographic routing each node needs location information about other nodes in the network to forward data packets to the destination. If a node maintains location information about all the nodes in the network...
